Oriel Colwyn

Oriel Colwyn is the photographic gallery located above Theatr Colwyn. The Trust applied on the gallery’s behalf to the North Wales Police fund ‘Your Community, Your Choice’ and was awarded £2,909.89 towards the cost of setting up a dark room at the gallery, for use by students, community groups and professional photographers. The dark room was chosen to receive the money after it was put to public vote.

Gwnaeth yr Ymddiriedolaeth gais ar ran yr oriel i gronfa Heddlu Gogledd Cymru ‘Eich Cymuned, Eich Dewis’ a dyfarnwyd £2,909.89 tuag at gostau sefydlu ystafell dywyll yn yr oriel, i’w ddefnyddio gan fyfyrwyr, grwpiau cymunedol a ffotograffwyr proffesiynol. Cafodd yr ystafell dywyll ei ddewis i dderbyn yr arian ar ôl pleidlais gyhoeddus.

Conwy Arts Trust is proud to support Oriel Colwyn with projects and events.

Oriel Colwyn is a unique gallery and education space dedicated to showcasing photography and photographic works.

By working with local, national and international photographers as well as current and up and coming new talent they are North Wales’ hottest photography space.

Situated in the seaside town of Colwyn Bay in North Wales and housed within the historic Theatr Colwyn building, the gallery officially opened in the spring of 2012.

Admission is free and exhibitions are available to see most weekdays between 10am and 5pm and during normal theatre and cinema opening times. 

Oriel Colwyn is a multi-purpose exhibition space and therefore occasionally unavailable. Please phone ahead in advance if travelling to confirm the gallery is open.
